Tour
4 - TELOR

A-B After leaving Beaumaris
the lane passes through some fine parkland. This section rises
over the first half then downhill to the village of Llanfaes.
B-C This is a steady climb up to Llanddona but nowhere
very steep. The first half passes between high hazel hedges; then
there is some fine scenery and views to Snowdonia. Llaniestyn
Common is an attractive old heath and a good site for a picnic.
To go to Llanddona (pub and shop) turn left at main junction at
the Common. To continue the tour turn back out of the village
and follow the sign in the direction of Penmon at the Common.
C-D Undulating with some short steep sections. Along all
this section are exceptional views to Red Wharf Bay and over the
local landscape to Snowdonia. Much of this area is limestone which
supports a rich hedge and bank flora.
D-E-D Back at sea level. To get to Black Point carry on
past the Priory. At Black Point is a cafe and room to spread out.
(SHORT TOUR: If you do not wish to go to Penmon, then follow main
tour from D)
D-B After leaving the coast the lane turns inland and then
uphill for a short while before crossing the B5109 from Beaumaris
to Llangoed.
B-A This reverses the first section. There is a right turn
out of Llanfaes village and quite a steep rise past the turning
to Henllys Hotel.
